A visually stunning cinematic theatre performance for young people of all ages, a the story of young love, passion and coming of age for the Y generation.
Advanced Screening 2010 is a romantic comedy/drama created specifically for teenagers and their families about the problems that arise when young people are in serious relationships. The show is a fast paced episode based story revolving around a group of friends in year 12 on the verge of finishing school and dealing with the minefield of the future and their relationships after school.
William is in love with Rosy but seriously wonders if it worth risking a broken heart while he sees his friends’ relationships fall apart. At the beginning of the show he asks the question; “So why is it we’re not taken seriously? Young love is often trivialised by adults, but surely our emotions are just as valid as theirs. Love is consuming; relentless; it can keep us smiling for days, and it can leave us awake at night wondering hopelessly adrift in our own insecurities - does she, really love me?”
Advanced Screening 2010 presents a slice of High School life that teenagers will instantly relate to and parents will remember. This show will entertain you, it will move, it will make you laugh, it might make you cry and it will definitely stimulate your senses.

“With Advanced Screening 2010 we want to present a live performance for young people that takes the best of both theatre and cinema to create an exciting, relevant and inspiring experience ” Steven says.
“This is a unique experience for our young cast to work with a professional company, in a marquee venue,” Brad says “previous participants in earlier versions of this work have gone on to study at NIDA and QUT , worked with QTC and ABC, and others have become drama teachers.”
On Sunday the 2nd of May, Markwell Presents held auditions at the Brisbane Powerhouse for our new production of Advanced Screening 2010. Over 150 high school students from South East Qld turned up to give it their best shot to become part of the ensemble cast of 10 principle roles.
